So, you may have noticed that we’ve not had a carnival in two months. I’m afraid our May and June hosts have both been experiencing issues of the non-Internet life variety, and I’ve had trouble getting in touch with them, so I can’t tell you when the editions might be coming.
The next edition of the Down Under Feminists Carnival is planned for 5 July, 2012 and will be hosted by Jo at A life unexamined. Submissions to jo.alifeunexamined [at] gmail [dot] com for those who can’t access the blogcarnival submissions form.
Submissions must be of posts of feminist interest by writers from Australia and New Zealand that were published in June. Submissions are due on 2 July at the latest, but it’ll be easier on the lovely Jo if you submit sooner rather than later. So submit early and often, please, and spread the word! It’s the 50th edition, so let’s make it special.
From Jo’s announcement post, she has an optional theme for this carnival:
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about gender and gender essentialism, especially around what the word “woman” really means, especially in feminism. So if you have some thoughts on the topic, however broadly related, feel free to write something up and submit it!
I have promised Jo that I will write a special themed post, so we will see what I come up with…!

I have to admit, I am quite taken by the new epithet “lovely.” :D
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Chally,
Sorry for my lack of content. Reasons and all…..
I will try and get the carnival up in the next few days.
Apologies to all.
Life happens! Not to worry, it’s just a carnival :).
