Today’s song is “Red Shingal Bay” by Many Hands, thanks to Lauredhel. From their website:

Many Hands are a New Zealand-based group of musicians from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific Islands. We have each brought with us influences and instruments from our own original cultures and the places we have visited on our routes to Aotearoa. Together we are creating new music which reflects ourselves and the multicultural nation that is modern New Zealand.

As the YouTube description notes, “Red Shingle Bay” is a ‘bagpipe melody by Don McGlashan adapted for full band with diverse instrumentation’. The video shows a live performance on a stage in Oita, Japan, on 3 May 2003. It’s largely instrumental, except for some singing at the beginning in a language that, alas, I don’t speak.
